Pro Golf – PGA Tour
33-year-old Anirban Lahiri who is now based permanently in Florida, shot rounds of 69-73-70-67(5-under 279) to finish tied-25th at the US$ 7.3mn Palmetto Championship in South Carolina, adding US$ 56,000 (₹41 lakhs) to his earnings. He now has earned US$ 688,000 (₹5 crores approx.) with two top 10’s and 8 cuts made in 16 starts in the current season.
This is a welcome return to form for Anirban who was forced to take a month’s break due to testing positive for Covid immediately after his 5th place finish at the US$ 7.7mn Valero Texas Open in April.
Lahiri’s world ranking is now 340th, which is a shade better than previously highest ranked Indian Udayan Mane who moved down to 346th since the Indian pro tour has shut down since February .
