Domestic Golf Tourism gets big push

While 2020 kept us all at our homes due to the pandemic, 2021 is the new ray of hope everyone was waiting for. The announcement of the COVID-19 vaccines has added to the expectations of the normalcy to return sooner than expected.

The country’s top senior golfers re-started competitive golf with the AVT Champions Tour in November at ITC Classic in Gurgaon and staged a second event in early January at Eagleton, Bangalore. In February, we have India Golf Festival scheduled at the ITC Classic Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon, followed by Jaipur Classic, where more than 100 golfers are expected to play.

The next AVT Champions Tour event is scheduled for April 8-9 at Oxford Golf Resort, Pune,  and once again over 100 top senior golfers are expected to participate.

The Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, and other corporate sponsors, are supporting efforts to get Indian club golfers to explore courses around our country instead of travelling overseas for golf holidays. Travel with friends, experience new golf courses and connect with like-minded golfers.

Here are a sample of events which are open to golfers from anywhere in India. To find out more click here –
