MOHALI

MGR Golf Cup 2019

Mohali Golf Range (MGR) in Punjab conducted the 2nd MGR Golf Cup 2019 on November 30. Mohali Golf Range A Team comprising of Yuvraaj Hara, Mohul Dhingra, Kabir Guron, Adityla Singla successfully defended their title. Approximately 100 players, whose ages ranged from 3-76, participated in the Long driving, Chipping and Putting Competitions. This included players from Chandigarh Golf Club, Panchkula Golf Club, SEPTA Chandimandir, CGA Golf Range, and Mohali Golf Range. The youngest participants were 3-year-old Nihaal Cheema and Gulmyrah Uppal. Mrs Amarjeet Kaur was the oldest lady golfer at 75 and old 76-year-old Dr SS Sodhi was the oldest among the gentlemen. Mr Pal Singh of Chandigarh Golf Club was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. The annual competition was conducted as per the Indian Golf Union (IGU) List of Junior and Sub-junior categories of A-F. Sh. Karan A. Singh IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab was the Chief Guest.

Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) Premier League 2019

The KGA Premier League, which was inaugurated on November 2, 2019, at the Karnataka Golf Association, is now creating tremendous excitement as it reaches its final stage.
The third round — which was played on a scramble format on December 6-7 2019 — decided the 8 teams that will advance to the finals out of the 20 participating teams.
The winning team receives the coveted KGA Premier League Trophy and prizes worth Rs.5 Lakhs while the Runner-up team receives prizes worth Rs.2.5 Lakhs.

Mumbai Golf League

The second season of Mumbai Golf League teed off on December 13, 2019.
The team-based golf league featured seven days of sporting entertainment — including three days of competitive golfing thrills. The exciting events included a mega auction gala night, a sundowner poolside barbeque accompanied by live performances, and a grand prize distribution finale.
On the first day of MGL-2, Flying Birdies had taken lead with 18 points. On the second day, Usual Suspects had taken the lead with 31 points and qualified to play finals on 15th December 2019 along with Flying Birdies with 29 points, Golfing Aryans with 29 points, and Mumbai United with 28 points.
On the final day, Mumbai United was declared winners of MGL-2 with 13 points.

NAVI MUMBAI

Nohwar wins year-long contest

Arjun Nohwar, came out victorious at the TBC Masters 2019 a one-of-a-kind tournament which concluded on December 22, 2019 at Kharghar Valley Golf Course (KVGC), Navi Mumbai. This unique, 9-month long tournament saw 129 avid golfers competing for the coveted inaugural Champion trophy and the Green Jacket. The tournament had nine monthly rounds with 65 – 70 golfers participating every month. Each game had many interesting ‘spins’, which kept the golfing calendar ticking and the competitors on the edge, all through 2019.
Every progressive game provided opportunities for points aggregation to the participants, with monthly trophies also being awarded to the two top golfers. Golfers were also eligible for the coveted final trophy and other prizes. Golfers earned points based on their performance in the monthly rounds and the Top 3 Golfers at the end of 9 months were judged based on their running standing after the final round. The Grand finale and glittering award ceremony were held at Navi Mumbai.
TBC World of Sports (TBCWoS), is the organising body committed to provide unique and exciting golfing opportunities to its members. Founded by five avid golfers in a small way in 2017, they have made it their mission to ensure that every game is meticulously planned and seamlessly executed. There is a high degree of automation. All processes from registration for the game, payments, acknowledgements, receipts, and reminders are online. Importantly, a live leaderboard is deployed for every tournament/round that gets updated with input of each fight’s hole wise scores allowing players to track their and fellow participants’ progress through the round.
Within three years of its inception, TBCWoS has become a strong fraternity of more than 200 regular golfers primarily driven by high-quality management. TBCWoS remains committed to organising quality golf outings and tournaments with outstanding arrangements and unique features. They are also committed to helping increase awareness of and compliance with golf rules and etiquette. Numerous tournaments (which are unique in more ways than one) have been organised at various golf courses in India. The major attractions have been at Oxford Golf Club (Pune), US Club (Mumbai), KVGC (Navi Mumbai), Kensville and Kalhaar (Ahmedabad), and Amby Valley (Lonavala).
